Restorations and Fixing Cavities
Safeguarding the health and appearance of your child’s smile by offering effective dental restorations. Whether dealing with decay, trauma, or damage, our experienced team provides a range of aesthetic restoration options to restore your child’s teeth to their natural form and function.
Caring for Your Child’s Smile
For nearly five decades, our practice has been dedicated to preserving oral health for families in Ogden, northern Utah, and southwestern Wyoming. Routine exams help us detect potential dental issues early, allowing us to offer proactive treatments. Despite the best preventive care, accidents or dental issues may arise. If your child experiences a damaged or decayed tooth, you can trust Dr. Aaron Christensen and our skilled team to restore it effectively and comfortably.
Understanding Pediatric Dental Restorations
Today’s advancements in pediatric dentistry allow us to restore damaged or decayed teeth using materials that closely mimic the natural appearance of healthy teeth. Dr. Christensen will first perform a thorough exam to determine the best treatment for your child’s needs. For small cavities, fillings are often the solution, and we offer both silver (amalgam) and white (composite) fillings to suit different needs and preferences.
For larger cavities or significant damage, a crown may be necessary to ensure long-term health and function. Dr. Christensen will explain all available options and help guide you through the decision-making process to ensure the best outcome for your child.
Our Approach to Restorations
We offer a variety of materials for fillings and crowns, including stainless steel and zirconium, to match the extent of damage and the location of the tooth. For visible areas, zirconium crowns offer an aesthetic solution, while stainless steel is often preferred for back teeth that endure more chewing pressure. Our goal is to provide durable restorations that last and protect your child’s dental health.
Making Treatment Comfortable for Your Child
We prioritize your child’s comfort during their visit, offering various anesthetic and sedation options to ensure a stress-free experience. After numbing the area, Dr. Christensen will remove any damaged or decayed tissue before preparing the tooth for a filling or crown. If necessary, a pulpotomy (a form of “baby root canal”) may be performed to preserve the tooth’s health, particularly when the decay affects the nerve.

Looking forward to continued treatment here.
“Though our first visit was just a quick consult for my 5 year old they were kind enough to squeeze us in even though I had mistaken the appointment day and went in a day early. I appreciated not having to make another trip even though it was 100% my mistake. Staff are super friendly and Dr Christensen is great with my son. Looking forward to continued treatment here.”
